The scarcity of resources has long since affected not only raw materials but also qualified personnel. In our knowledge society, employees are more than ever a decisive factor for entrepreneurial success. In this context, personnel management becomes an important part of corporate management. Their common goal is to secure the overall success of a company and to maintain its future viability. Selecting, deploying and developing employees in line with the company’s objectives is one of the most important challenges in this regard. This requires a suitable corporate culture and is closely linked to the management of corporate processes.
Accordingly, in demand today, are human resources experts who not only know about people, motivation and leadership theories, but also understand complex corporate strategies and organisational structures. You will acquire this sought-after combination of skills if you choose the master’s degree programme in Business and Human Resources Management at CBS.
The prerequisite for admission to the master’s programme is a first academic degree in economics. Admission with a first academic degree from a different subject is also possible after the successful completion of one or more preliminary semesters but requires an individual examination. Our student advisory service staff will be happy to advise you in detail about our specialisations and admission requirements.
With the study programme Business Management and Human Resources Management, CBS prepares you for a position on the other side of the table at job interviews. You will gain an understanding of recruiting and managing personnel and learn to apply your own leadership behaviour in a targeted and situationally appropriate manner. To this end, we train you in special seminars and training courses to assess and further develop your communication skills. In view of the intensified competition for talent, you will deal with the development of an attractive employer brand and the use of employer branding instruments.
A further focus of your studies is on modern corporate strategies and forms of organisation and their alignment with current market requirements. You will learn how to carry out planning, management and controlling processes.
Within the framework of case studies and best practice, you will apply your acquired know-how in practice, for example, to analyse the existing personnel management of a company for weaknesses and to develop optimisation approaches.
Your extra-occupational master’s degree in Business and Personnel Management qualifies you for management positions in HR departments as well as for demanding functions in staff departments of the management. In large and international companies, your qualifications open up the opportunity to specialise in exciting areas of human resources management, such as strategic personnel management, talent development or diversity management. If you wish to continue your academic career, the master’s degree enables you to pursue a doctorate.
