Student Life
The “Kölner Studierendenwerk” are partner organisations of the universities and support students with lots of help and services around their studies. CBS International Business School is one of the few private universities which are members of the Köln Studentenwerk. This enables the CBS students to make use of the wide-ranging offer of services which, for example, are also available to the Cologne University students.
One of the most important service offers is the administration of more than 4,759 halls of residence in Cologne and its surroundings. The future students can fill out a search mask online and filter according to criteria such as apartment or WG [shared apartment] rooms, satellite TV and garage parking space and have themselves entered on a waiting list.
The Mensa [canteen] services in the city are wide-ranging: 8 Mensas and 14 cafeterias and coffee bars offer food and beverages which are affordable. The recently renovated Main Mensa on Zülpicher Straße provides a selection of 16 lunch dishes, 5 days per semester week and 3 on Saturday. Care services are provided, making life easier for students with children. A psychosocial emergency support service is also offered and can be very helpful to students who have exam nerves and also in other difficult situations.
In addition to a series of further services, regular events are organized, second-hand furniture exchanges and naturally all sorts of sports are offered at affordable prices. Thus, the CBS students gain from this membership and are provided with extra added value. More information here.
In addition, they have founded the initiative "My Home in Cologne". They accept offers for rooms and arrange contact with the landlord.
