Student Life
Cologne, 31.03.22 / A career day is an activity in which business partners from a variety of companies come together at a school to share information about their workplace, their job, and the education and skills that are required for success in their careers.
This year the CBS career day has proved that career planning and leisure time fun can both be done at the same time. More than 700 current & prospective students attended the event that took place in Phantasialand, an amusement park located in Brühl. The attendees traveled by shuttle bus and train from the various CBS locations and used the unusual event with the motto "Rollercoaster towards a career" to get to know companies, network and make new contacts with possible employers, or inform themselves about the diverse study offers of the CBS. A high school from Cologne sent its entire high school graduating class and organized the excursion to the CBS "Career Day" as part of the school study and career orientation.
From finance to consulting companies, from fashion houses to food companies - a total of 65 companies from different industries presented themselves on two exhibition levels as potential partners for dual studies, as providers of internships as well as employers for career entry after graduation. In addition to informative exhibition stands and presentations on career prospects, fast-paced speed dating sessions ensured numerous valuable business contacts in a short period of time.
"After the pandemic, the CBS Career Day was once again a real highlight among recruiting fairs. In a very special location at Phantasialand, we were able to meet motivated and varied personalities from the university's various locations and finally experience personal contact with applicants again." Alexandra Sagerer, Campana & Schott
In the relaxed "Career Lounge", interested parties received advice on the various CBS study programmes, clarified questions about semesters abroad at the "International Office", went into a personal exchange with alumni, and got to know their future professors and lecturers at the "Meet and Greet". The free service for taking professional application photos with a photographer on site was also very popular.
At the end of the career discovery tour, a roller coaster was ready for the participants. Equipped with VR glasses, the guests immersed themselves in the world of "Crazy Bats" during the ride and became the star of an animated film featuring crazy bats.
