Cologne is more than just a place to study — it’s a vibrant cultural hub. Famous for its iconic Cathedral, the world-renowned Cologne Carnival, and its prestigious universities, the city is a magnet for students from around the globe. Because Cologne is so popular, finding the right accommodation can be challenging. To make your transition easier, CBS offers a limited selection of housing options specifically reserved for our new international students.
The CBS Lottery System
Due to high demand and limited capacity, our accommodation spots are allocated via a lottery system to ensure a fair distribution.
Requirements for the Lottery:
Eligible Groups: Only new full-degree students, Prep4Uni students, or exchange students may apply.
Timing: The application window is open from May 1st to June 15th. Late applications will not be considered.
Exclusions: We cannot consider students who are already living in Germany or are already in the middle of their studies at CBS.
Locals: CBS residences are exclusively for international students; local students are unfortunately not eligible.
CBS Student Residence
Attention: Only for International Exchange Students
Area: Live in the heart of the action! Our own residence is located near the trendy “Südstadt” neighbourhood, surrounded by cool shops, cafés, and bars.
The Rooms: Fully equipped single or double rooms. Each room includes a bed, closet, desk, storage, bedding, and a private safe.
Community: Share a large communal kitchen and a common room with a TV and dining area.
Outdoor Space: Enjoy access to a large private backyard.
The Experience: Live under one roof with fellow visiting students from all over the world. It’s the perfect place to cook, study, and explore the city together!
Felixx Student Homes
Perfect for: Privacy meets community
Located in the city center — right between CBS, the old town, and the best shopping districts — Felixx Student Homes offers a phenomenal location where you can reach almost everything on foot.
Facilities: Every apartment features its own private bathroom and kitchenette.
Move-in Ready: Tastefully furnished so you can move in with just your suitcase — no moving van required (attention: bedding and cutlery are not included and need to be bought separately)
Support: A dedicated dormitory tutor is available on-site to help you settle in and answer questions about the neighbourhood.

Located in the multicultural heart of Cologne-Deutz (the "Schäl Sick"), We18 offers a premium living experience.
The Apartments: Fully furnished single apartments
Luxury Amenities: Equipped with a TV, kitchenette, and accessories, designed for you to move in and feel at home instantly (attention: bedding and cutlery are not included and need to be bought separately)
Location: Just steps away from the "Trimbornstraße" S-Bahn stop, providing a fast connection to the city center.
