Two years of engagement for sustainable management: The recent published CASM Report 2016-17 gives a complete overview over the Center of Advanced Sustainable Management’s work (CASM) at Cologne Business School.
The research institute for CSR Sustainability aims at promoting research and teaching, connecting with international players from science, business or politics and contributes a knowledge transfer between science and business.
Professor René Schmidpeter and Patrick Bungard focus on the fields of action “Teaching”, “Research”, “Publications” and “Knowledge transfer and practical cooperation”. The institute cooperates closely with the Cologne Business School. One success of this collaboration is the integration of sustainable management principles into the curricula of the bachelor, master and MBA programmes. Thus, CSR concepts are discussed in the context of business cases and business topics in seminars. The students take a fresh look at economy and learn to view it in an interdisciplinary and holistic manner.
Prof Dr René Schmidpeter: “We at CASM believe that our economies and universities need to rethink how our economic system works to train future leaders accordingly. We want to be a pioneer in this process by means of our research.”
The institute has built a strong network of international business and science partners with a focus on sustainable management over the past two years for driving this process forward.
