An undergraduate degree or also often called a bachelor’s degree is the first basic academic degree that can be obtained at a university of applied sciences. Since the Bologna reform, the German study system has been divided into Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. A bachelor’s degree forms the basis for a professional qualification in the academic field. A distinction is made between “Bachelor of Arts” and “Bachelor of Science” degrees in different fields. In Germany, a bachelor’s degree usually takes three years, divided into six semesters. In addition to basic technical knowledge, students learn how to work scientifically during the course of their undergraduate studies. The undergraduate programme is completed with the submission of a bachelor’s thesis and qualifies graduates for various graduate programmes.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies opens the doors to the world of business for you. You learn the basis on which management decisions are made. You learn how to apply economic theories and methods using various practical examples. At CBS, you also have the opportunity to specialise in individual areas. In the Business Administration & Management course, for example, you can choose between two main areas of focus such as Marketing and Finance. Study courses such as Business Psychology and International Tourism Management prepare you for a specific economic sector or industry.
