The aim of the part-time master’s programme in General Management is to deepen your knowledge of business administration and to teach you how to apply it in practice. The focus is on further questions concerning medium-sized and multinational companies, how they operate and the relevant regional characteristics. You will have the opportunity to choose modules from up to six business management functional areas according to your personal interest profile. This will give you a wide range of insights into relevant business fields and enable you to specialise in precisely those topics that are relevant to your further career planning.
You will also learn another foreign language as well as social and creative skills. In this way you will be optimally prepared for future professional challenges in middle and upper management in multinational companies.
In the extra-occupational master’s degree programme in General Management you will develop knowledge of regional, cultural and historical aspects that are important for entrepreneurial decision-making and action. Together with lecturers from management practice, you will learn to understand contexts and develop strategies in small seminar groups. Course contents such as Digital Management, Change Management, Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility create a broad foundation for your future management role.
Elective modules offer you an attractive range of different management topics in which you can acquire specialised knowledge. Choose exciting subjects from the fields of Sales Management & Sales Psychology, Controlling & Financial Management, Marketing Management, Personnel and Change Management, Strategic Management & Consulting or Business Psychology. Through goal-oriented subject combinations you can sharpen your individual profile and thus increase your attractiveness on the job market.
Our study programmes do not remain theoretical but are directly applied and tested in a variety of practical projects. At the beginning of your studies, you will be challenged in the “Case Lab” by current case studies from various corporate divisions. In the fourth semester, together with fellow students, you will work through recommendations for action for the university’s corporate partners in the “Business Project”. In the same semester, you will also be able to make extensive entrepreneurial decisions in a business simulation game and together with your group, lead “your company” to victory in the virtual business game.
As a part-time student, you can use your master’s thesis to combine theory and practice by writing it in connection with a current company project of your employer. Upon completion of your master’s thesis you will receive the title “Master of Arts”. The extra-occupational master`s degree in General Management opens up numerous perspectives for you as a junior executive, both at medium-sized companies and in corporate groups in Germany and abroad. You will be ideally positioned for management positions in the fields of finance, marketing, human resources or general project management.
