She is optimistic and embraces change, says Nina Bomberg when asked about her outstanding qualities. Her career path just shows how true this self-assessment is: After completing her bachelor's degree in the "European Business Administration" programme at CBS, she held various indirect purchasing positions in large corporations. She decided to complete an EMBA programme on a part-time basis in just 18 months in 2016. Today, she works as Global Lead Buyer at SEG Automotive Germany and has been the Chairperson of the association CBS Family & Friends since November 2019.
Nina Bomberg: It was an English-language study programme in which I could use and improve my language skills. Apart from that, I have always been interested in the history and cooperation of EU member states.
Nina Bomberg: The internationality and intercultural aspects which were part of every course.
Nina Bomberg: I have a to-do list for every day. Then the telephone rings at 8 o'clock, because a production line has come to a standstill and my to-do list gets set back …
Nina Bomberg: Every day is different, and I work with people from all over the world.
Nina Bomberg: We don't negotiate prices all day long.
Nina Bomberg: In my current position, there is still a lot of work to be done to complete the transformation from a large corporation into a much smaller one. When that is done - who knows what comes next?!
Nina Bomberg: At CBS I learned to improvise and to speak in front large groups of people. Today, if I give a lecture in front of 250 conference participants, I don't have to fear the Q&A session at the end.
Nina Bomberg: Make use of the university’s extracurricular offers like company visits or rhetoric seminars. These are the experiences that distinguish CBS from one of the large state universities.
CBS: Thank you very much for the interview!
