Studying and living in Cologne can be a great experience. As a cultural hub in the west of Germany, Cologne is famous for its spectacular cathedral, for the well-known Cologne Carnival, and for the various museums and prestigious universities.

Cologne has an infinite variety of accommodation possibilities. However, the increasing influx of people can make the search for adequate accommodation challenging. In order to simplify the search for accommodation for CBS Students, we have built up a vast accommodation network including apartments in private student residences especially reserved for CBS Students, a cooperation with the Kölner Studierendenwerk (Cologne Student Union) and close relationships to a big amount of real estate agencies and private landlords. The CBS Accommodation Office is there to assist you in your search: in person, with advice and support and we invite you to have a look at the presented CBS housing options below.

CBS Student Residence

The CBS International Business School operates an own student residence with fully equipped double and single rooms close to the popular “Südstadt” neighborhood of Cologne, surrounded by an abundance of cool shops, cafés, and bars. The house offers you ideal accommodation while you are an exchange student at the CBS.

The 1 and 2-bed rooms are bright, friendly, and well equipped. Each room is furnished with a bed, closet, desk, storage rack, lamps, beddings, and private safes.

A large and spacious common kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerators, a freezer, stove, oven, and microwaves. Plenty of bathrooms on each floor are available to all residents. Furthermore, students share a comfortable living room with dining facilities, couches and a TV as well as a big garden.

It is an extraordinary experience to live under one roof with other visiting students of the CBS from around the world, who, just like you, are only in Cologne for a short time.

You will appreciate the inspiring, international atmosphere – and can cook, learn and explore the city together.

The building has 19 single and double rooms which are classified into different categories according to their size.
Double rooms are equipped and foreseen to be used by two persons. The given prices below are per person and per semester.

Castell Deutz

Quietly located, directly on the Rhine River and surrounded by green areas – the Castell Deutz invites you to study in a relaxed atmosphere. Completely renovated in 2017, the Castell Deutz is now a high-quality apartment building, which offers comfortable single apartments that are specially tailored to all student’s needs. All apartments are fully furnished with comfortable furniture and a kitchen, and have a separate bathroom. Secure spaces for bicycles are available in the courtyard and the local manager will gladly answer all of your questions. The Castell Deutz is very centrally located and is connected to all important destinations in Cologne. The central station, the CBS International Business School or the city center can be reached within a few minutes. A perfect place, which combines the necessary quietness for studies and the closeness to all important points of the city for your daily needs.

At CBS Apartments at Castell Deutz, you can choose between a single apartment and a room in a shared apartment.

All single apartments at Castell Deutz are fully furnished and have their own kitchen and bathroom.
Rooms in shared apartments are furnished (bed and closet). The bathroom and kitchen are shared. The shared apartments offer space for 2 students.

SMARTments Cologne

All apartments are tastefully furnished and have their own bathroom and kitchen, so you won't need a moving van or the hassle of buying furniture when you move into your new home. The location in the city center between CBS, shopping mile, old town and nightlife is phenomenal. From there you can - if you want - do everything on foot.

The apartments are only a 15 minute walk from the CBS campus! On site, a residence hall tutor will help you settle in and answer any questions you may have about the residence hall and its surroundings.

At We18 we offer fully furnished single apartments, most of them are equipped with a balcony and luxury amenities (TV, kitchen appliances and accessories, ready to move in only with a suitcase). The dormitory is located in Cologne Deutz, in the middle of the multicultural center of the "Schälsick", with numerous restaurants, bars and shopping facilities nearby.

Due to the good location near the S-Bahn stop "Trimbornstraße" you not only have an excellent connection to the public transportation towards the city center and the CBS campus, but also to other cities around Cologne.

All CBS apartments offered at We18 are Single apartments. All apartments at We18 are fully furnished and have their own kitchen and bathroom, most of them have a balcony or French balcony. The apartments in the category DELUXE are additionally equipped with TV, kitchen devices and coffee machine, clock, hassock, decorative floor lamp, curtains, ironing utensils, hairdryer, beddings & kitchen utensils – ready to move in.

Important Information before applying

Application periods: Fall Semester = April 01st – September 15th / Spring Semester = October 01st – February 15th
The CBS Students Residence is reserved for international exchange students only!
The minimum tenancy agreement period is one semester
The rent has to be paid in advance
A security deposit of 500,00 EUR will be charged to you in addition to the rental prices
Moving in & out is always possible from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 3 pm. Moving in & out on weekends and public holidays is not possible. Special moving times for the CBS Students Residence
After receiving an accommodation offer from CBS, a partial rental amount has to be paid within 5 days as a down payment to firmly reserve the offered housing option
To rent an apartment at Castell Deutz having a private liability insurance is mandatory
The pictures of the rooms / apartments shown on our website are just a sample of a fully furnished living unit. Decoration items are not included in the rent and will not be included in the room / apartment when moving in. Furnishings may vary from unit to unit.
