The Finance and Accounting research cluster studies fundamental issues regarding decision making within and for companies. The cluster takes an applied approach, analysing companies and institutions with regard to their quantitative and financial context. Moreover, research topics often relate to other economic and social issues such as organisational theory and market regulation.
Much of the research work is conducted in cooperation with colleagues, e.g. at the University of St. Gallen, the University of Vienna and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. The results of our research are regularly presented at prestigious conferences in Germany and abroad and also published in journals.
Partners from the world of business work with academics and students in the research cluster, taking a long-term and holistic approach to projects. The synergy between research, teaching and the business world greatly enhances the practical relevance of the respective research fields. Thus several productive partnerships have been established with business partners such as Evonik Industries, Gothaer Versicherungen, Deutsche Bank, AT Kearney, Management Engineers and Lufthansa.
