On of the most important activities within the I´StIP is the trip to Munich organized every summer semester. This year, 25 international students joined the amazing trip.
In order to use our time wisely, we departed from Cologne on Friday 22nd, at 6 in the morning.

We had a large bus for our group that took us directly to our hostel in Munich.
When we got to Munich we did the check in and then left the hostel to start exploring one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. On Friday we had great weather with 22 degrees, so the day began with a picnic in the famous English garden under the sun. Afterwards, many students went to the Theresienwiesen to get their first impressions of the “Frühlingsfest”. They enjoyed watching the people wearing the traditional Bavarian clothes and tried the famous Bavarian beer. This way, they could very well picture what the Oktoberfest in Munich must have been like.

On Friday night, we had a group reservation in one of the biggest Brauhäuser in Munich: the Paulaner Brauhaus. In there the students had a big and delicious dinner before going out and enjoy Munich’s nightlife

On Saturday morning after breakfast, the students gathered in the lobby of the hostel to begin with our city tour. We had a very friendly guide who took us on a three-hour ling sightseeing tour through the main attractions of Munich. The tour included stops at the main square of Marienplatz, the Nymphenburg Castle, the Pinakothek square, and the Olympia park, etc. In the afternoon, after the tour ended, the students had some free time in order to visit the attractions of their interest. Many students went to museums, while other went to the BMW World, and other went to the Allianz Arena Stadium, or just stroll around the city center. At night, we all met at the hostel in order to go out together.

On Sunday morning the students had the morning free to choose what activity they wanted to do on their last day in Munich. By 2pm, all students gathered punctually at the hostel to return to Cologne.
