For many years, the Center for Advanced Sustainable Management (CASM) at the Cologne Business School and the SpringerNature publishing house have combined the German-language management series Corporate Social Responsibility edited by Professor Dr René Schmidpeter and the international, English-language series “CSR, Sustainability, Ethics & Governance” (edited by Professor Dr René Schmidpeter and Samuel Idowu). They also show the developments at the Cologne Business School into one of the leading business schools in the field of sustainable management. The management series are with over 120 reference books among the most successful ones of SpringerNature. With the generous support of Christian Rauscher, Executive Editor at Springer, the Center for Advanced Sustainable Management (CASM) has donated books from this series worth around 5,000 euros to the CBS university library.
“In 2012, we first launched a major encyclopedia on CSR, which showed us the great interest in this subject area with over 100,000 downloads. This has not changed to date: The books of both series have already been downloaded several million times. They have a great influence on the understanding of sustainability, as readers worldwide use them as reference works. With this “small library”, we are happy to pass on our knowledge to the students of the Cologne Business School,” says Christian Rauscher.
The CBS library managers accepted the donation in the presence of CBS President Prof Dr Elisabeth Fröhlich and CBS Managing Director Prof Dr Christoph Willers in the SpringerNature and CASM University Library. Prof Dr Elisabeth Fröhlich expressed her gratitude for the generous donation: “As knowledge centres, libraries are among the most important places of a university. Thanks to your donation, the entire book series is now available to our students. We are delighted to have found a partner in you with whom we can further advance the topic of “CSR and Sustainable Management””. She also emphasized the great thrust of this series for research at the Cologne Business School.
