Higher education cooperation and development of certificate programs

For nine days, representatives of the United Nationsâ?? International Labour Organization along with the Nanjing University of Finance and Economics in eastern China visited the Cologne Business School in order to discuss in detail a partnership to develop a network with China. On the second day of the conference Mayor Hans-Werner Bartsch received the delegation in the historical town hall and welcomed the guests from afar to Cologne.

Directly afterwards, the Cologne Chamber of Commerce insisted on extending the welcome to our guests, inviting them for a visit to their offices located at Unter Sachsenhausen.

The extensive discussions were further complemented with guided sightseeing tours and excursions during their stay, allowing the guests from China to receive their own, personal impression of Cologne and the surrounding area. After the signing of the Letter of Intent by both parties, the penultimate day saw everyone off to the Netherlands for attending a company presentation at the ALBA Group in Eindhoven concerning the prospects of a service provider for the Asian market.

Finally, the Bayer AG – Chempark was visited, after which conference participants had the opportunity to speak extensively with corporate representatives.

Shortly before their departure from Frankfurt Airport, the visitors were taken on a tour of the Lufthansa LSG Sky Chefs premises.Summarizing the framework program, Prof. Dr. Markus Raueiser, CBS Vice President of Internationalization / International Affairs commented, “Due to the complex nature of the content, it was necessary that we allow ourselves ample time for discussions in order to go over in detail the many issues concerning our partnership. In addition to the substantive discussions it was also of particular importance for us that our partners get to know the economic region and take home a good impression of the cultural metropolis of Cologne. All in all, I believe we were successful in reaching this goal.”Now, the next step planned for the partnership is a return visit by the CBS delegation to Nanjing in order to set further details of the cooperation.
