Over 200 graduates received the academic degree “Bachelor of Arts” at the graduation ceremony on August 25, 2018. Cologne Business School invited about 800 guests to the Maritim hotel and provided an entertaining programme with official speeches. The evening was devoted to the theme of “time” which ran like a thread through the ceremony.

CBS President, Prof Dr Elisabeth Fröhlich gave the opening speech and paid a special tribute to the achievements of the graduates and the exchange students from Indonesia and Taiwan who received a double degree at Cologne Business School and their home university. She wished them all the best for the future and closed her speech with: “We hope that in the future – and please, don’t see this as a step back – that you will always find your way back to your CBS.”

Afterwards, time also played an important role as the bachelor graduates decorated in gowns and caps received their certificates from their deans on the stage. This special moment was captured with cameras.

The theme of time was also present in the bachelor graduates’ speech by Max Bantel (International Business), Kai Kluczynski (International Business) and Mana Sarrafian (Business Psychology). “The strange thing about time is that we perceive it differently depending on our point of view. If we remember our first semester together, it seems like it was only last year and yet like an eternity ago,” said Mana Sarrafian.

The graduates Lisa Chevalier (General Management) and Dario Lang (International Media Management) surprised the audience and presetned a personal video retrospective on their study at Cologne Business School. The official part ended traditionally with the throwing of caps. At the after show party the graduates celebrated until the early morning.
