Cologne Business School is a member of AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The Cologne Business School is an Educational Member of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) and has been awarded the status of Candidate for Accreditation. Therefore, CBS has affirmed its commitment to excellence in business education.
This global network is comprised of leading academic institutions and over 130 companies. Through their commitment, expertise and resources they invest in a sustainable future. Joint field and research projects are set up, whose goals are to withstand the challenges of globalization by developing new management skills, mindsets and business management tools.
CBS and the IHK have always been in close connection. University directors have also been involved in the IHK General Assembly. Vice versa, the chief executive officer of the Chamber of Commerce is also a member of the CBS Board of Trustees.
As part of its commitment to international student exchange, CBS was awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education by the European Commission. This means that CBS is committed to international mobility programs for students and provides special quality standards for direct access to the university. More than four million people worldwide benefit from the Erasmus+ program.
The Cologne Business School is a member of the hochschulgründernetz cologne (university founder network cologne), which provides CBS students and alumni with free support and advisory services while starting up their own business. There are several partners in and around Cologne such as CBS, the University of Cologne, the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Cologne, which have joined forces to provide good conditions for founders and entrepreneurs from universities when starting out.
The Entrepreneurs Club e.K. presents the leading and successful family companies in the Employer Branding online portal “Karriere im Familienunternehmen”. With their own company profile they have the opportunity to emphasize their advantages and unique characteristics. Family companies are able to address their specific target group with the help of online application marketing to cast offered jobs. The focus of the Dr. Jürgen Meyer Foundation is on “Ethics in Business”. In cooperation with CBS the foundation bestows the endowed “Ethics and Sustainability Award”. Promotion and support for education and scientific research, which deals with employee problems at the middle management level – these are what characterize the foundation’s activities.
The Kölner Wissenschaftsrunde (Cologne Science Round) focuses on highlighting excellent scientific and economic potential in the region. This is made possible thanks to both the intensive network of various scientific institutions and its ties with the economy. The aim is to strengthen Cologne as a location for science and research. CBS professors’ involvement in the Kölner Wissenschaftsrunde comes in the form of lectures, panel discussions and workshops.
DIKRI takes key issues concerning the Social Web/Web 2.0 and deals with them from a research and business point of view. Topics and issues regarding consumer protection and data privacy in social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google+, are treated and answered. Subsequently, these issues are further addressed by CBS professors in publications and corporate projects.
Together with the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and in cooperation with experts in the field of digital economics, the Cologne Business School is an active partner in the initiative, Digital Cologne, which accompanies and supports companies on the traditional marketplace in their digital transformation. Digital Cologne sees itself as a driving force for the digital revolution, as a platform for networking and information exchange as well as a supporter enterprise.
The Charter for Diversity is a corporate initiative to promote diversity in companies and institutions. Its intention is to promote the recognition, appreciation and integration of diversity within corporate culture in Germany. Organizations should create a working environment that is free of prejudice. All employees should feel appreciated – regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, sexual orientation or appearance. More than 600 leading Business Schools worldwide and academic Institutions have signed the statement of this UN-Initiative and profess to Corporate sustainability and Social responsibility.
This local initiative works on structural changes in trade and commerce as a result of digitization. The importance of business for an attractive regional economic policy should be a matter of public awareness. Companies need to be ready for the changes ahead and, in order to be so, are accompanied through the support of science and research.
