Global, saturated and highly competitive markets have made marketing a central function of corporate management – and a key success factor. For this reason, marketing in modern companies is often directly linked to management.
Recognising trends, developing products that meet needs, effectively using price, communication and sales instruments – marketing measures are complexly intertwined. And they are decisive for image and brand values, customer loyalty and thus the sustainable success of a company. It is the responsibility of marketing managers to manage these strategically and goal oriented. In addition to leadership skills, you need sound economic expertise and up-to-date marketing knowledge. Skills that you will acquire during the part-time master’s degree course in Marketing Management at CBS.
The prerequisite for admission to the master’s programme is a first academic degree in economics. Admission with a first academic degree from a different subject is also possible after the successful completion of one or more preliminary semesters but requires an individual examination. Our student advisory service staff will be happy to advise you in detail about our specialisations and admission requirements.
With this master’s programme, CBS prepares you specifically for management positions in international companies and groups. Marketing contents are embedded in a classic business degree course, so that the overall entrepreneurial context becomes accessible to you. First of all, they deal comprehensively with possible marketing strategies and the integrative use of marketing instruments. On the basis of case studies and best practice, you will learn, for example, how to choose suitable sales channels and pricing strategies.
Another focus of your part-time studies is design management, which provides important buying incentives and preferential advantages in saturated markets with interchangeable goods. In marketing it is important to have your finger on the pulse of time, to recognize trends early on and to use them profitably. You will learn to critically analyse new developments and to effectively use contemporary media and measures such as social media, mobile marketing or augmented reality. The contents of the course are constantly updated and adapted to the dynamic developments in academic research in marketing and practice.
With the Master of Arts degree from CBS, you will have specialist and practical knowledge that will open up a wide range of career and promotion opportunities in Germany and abroad. If you are pursuing an academic career, the master’s degree also offers you the opportunity to pursue a doctorate.
