A national or international internship is firmly anchored in the curriculum during the semester break. Starting in the summer semester, Bachelor students complete an internship between the 5th and 6th semesters. If the programme starts in the winter semester, the internship takes place between the 4th and 5th semesters. Our Career Services department will help you find a suitable company.
Our bachelor’s programme “General Management – Real Estate Management” is aimed at prospective students who want to gain a foothold as a real estate manager in one of Germany’s largest growth industries. In our tailor-made specialisation studies, we provide you with the necessary business and industry knowledge as well as real consulting and negotiation skills for your career in real estate management. This will provide you with the professional and methodical foundation for building successful real estate portfolios, on the basis of which you will be able to assess the value and potential of real estate, invest wisely and increase its value in the long term.
The bachelor’s degree in “Real Estate Management” in Cologne offers you a holistic business management education and the curriculum covers the complete life cycle in real estate management – from budget planning to lease contract negotiation to operational management.

In addition, in this semester you will be introduced to the topic of “Strategic Real Estate Management“, where you will learn how to manage existing and new properties and develop an understanding of budget and reporting processes.
You would like to achieve a good result for both sides in sales talks, purchase and rental contract negotiations and react skilfully to your contractual partner? Communication and negotiation techniques are among the most important soft skills for prospective property managers. In our trainings you will learn the basics of conducting negotiations in real estate management: You will learn strategies for communication as well as the factual and result-oriented conduct of negotiations and apply them in role-plays.
In addition, we train your project management skills using practical examples: With the help of proven methods and tools, you will learn how to handle possible uncertainties in projects. Here, too, target group-oriented communication between project managers, customers and the public plays a decisive role.
For some time now, a rethink has been taking place in the real estate industry with regard to sustainable construction projects and operational portfolio management. In addition to new legal requirements that promote ecological building, the demands of buyers and investors on new properties are also increasing. The course “Sustainable Management and Modern Working Environments” in the sixth semester of your bachelor’s degree in “Real Estate Management” teaches you important aspects of sustainability that you should already consider during the building planning phase, as well as an understanding of agile working with regard to occupational safety and its effects.
In addition, you will deal with the basics of modern management culture both theoretically and practically in our method training courses. Thus, you will acquire the technical and methodological know-how to lead teams effectively and are ready for your career in real estate management.
Our bachelor’s degree programme “Business & Management – Real Estate Management” enables you to be supervised by a real estate company during your studies and to immerse yourself in its working world. In close cooperation with our practice partners you will also work on real business cases in our business project and support experienced real estate managers during an internship.
