Special Funding for Special Qualifications

What is the German Scholarship Program and who can apply?

The German Scholarship Program provides funding for students and prospective students who demonstrate outstanding performance. This does not only mean grades. Many young people also assume other responsibilities outside of the classroom, for example through volunteer work. This is also taken into consideration by the German Scholarship Program and frees up students to devote their undivided attention to studies.

Who is eligible for support?

Students and prospective students of the Cologne Business School have promising chances of a successful application. You need not apply if you are already receiving another form of performance-oriented funding of more than
30 € per month.

How high is the amount of funding?

The scholarship holders shall receive 300 € per month regardless of income or BaföG. 150 € of which shall come from private sponsors such as businesses, foundations, alumni or other private individuals. The other 150 € comes from the federal government. The German Scholarships shall be distributed from the universities directly to the scholarship recipients.

How long can I receive funding?

Scholarships are initially awarded for a period of one year. Pending good scholastic performance, the funding can be extended. There is no legal entitlement to the German Scholarship from the federal government or from others.

Who adjudicates on the awarding of scholarships?

The ruling is reached by a committee composed of university administrators and faculty members.
